The Landy Rally christmas party provided some water fun at the sibbertoft off-road site, unfortunatly i dont have many pictures of
the fun....

after the chistmas party the timing belt snapped and power steering went so funds were and still are tight meaning we couldnt do any more off-road untill the mac 4x4 challenge which turned out to be an entirly on road event tha you could manage in a fiesta, it had a great social side to the event and we have entered next year as team 42 hoping for alot more challenging terrain...

e decided to give the BOFA off-road day a go on sunday the 5th may 2008, we expected it to be abit boring, how wrong could we be it was absolutly Fantastic. i cant begin to explain it. it was like a jungle trek but without the scarey creepy crawleys that want to eat you
The picturesexplain the day best....

On the 2nd December 2007 at a pay and play day, we attended with John and some other Land Rovers including the infamous "Spooky 3" with its V8 engine in. there were a total of 4 Land Rovers there, 2 well kitted out, a bog standard 110 with a winch and us... we were in good hands
kieran is mad for mud and asked john where the puddles were to which he replied the is only one and said if i were you i would go through it but as you are new and need to learn your limits have a go, so thinking i was safe because at the time there were two beefy land rovers i though could pull us out from anywhere, the story went like this...
We lined up ready for the run...
We entered the puddle at a good steady speed and things were looking good...
Then we found the large mound of silt, but Pinky's bull bars soon smashed through that...
And then we got stuck...on top of the mound wed just tried to bulldoze out the way...
And the wheels spun....And spun...And spun...
Its tow rope time...Marc has to climb out of the window on to the bonnet to rescue the rope from the bull bars
Tow rope attached...time for some posing...
When questioned as to why he was stuck in the mud, Kieran replied he had no choice...
"ONE LIFE, LIVE IT"
After 1 hour of rigorous pulling and tugging from different directions Pinky was still stuck...it was looking a bit sketchy as to whether we would ever see Pinky out of that puddle (swamp) a 110 came over the hill with a winch on the front of it...unfortunately it wasn't so well equipped in the tyre department with standard Land Rover tyres it got stuck...two vehicles stuck 2 to rescue, eventually after much struggling the 110 was in position and was connected to Pinky and resting against a tree so wasn't pulled into the mud. The winch was working a treat and just as Pinky was able to get grip and start to move under its own steam the winch suddenly emitted a large plume of smoke and gave up...so with Pinky stuck for best part of 90 minutes and a winch that had burnt out we thought it best to call it a day and headed home!
The first Complete Team Monstar Outing
This is actually a ford!
we went out for a bit oflocal green laning on easter monday, it didn't end to well for pinky
i had come down the lane earlier on that day so assumed all would be fine when a stick flicked up and stabbed through the front passenger side tyre putting a hole in the battery box floor and dinting the side sill
still one month on i dont have a new tyre as they seem impossible to source
